EDUCATION
In order to improve the abilities of those on government benefits to find meaningful employment, as well as gain confidence and learn more about their own mental health, we are offering online courses. In order to identify people who need our services, we will work closely with local community groups such as the Job Centre. We will pay for the materials and courses, while continuing to provide support and guidance to our participants.
Our pilot project has already shown to be beneficial to our participant, with 100% pass rate so far.
Animal Care: This hands-on experience will cover a range of essential skills, including physical care and maintenance, administrative duties, basic first aid, nutrition, weight management, halter training, and safe animal handling. (And of course, plenty of animal cuddles)
Horticulture: This hands-on experience will cover a range of essential skills, including plant and soil care, starting from seed, plant bed maintenance, natural pest control, administrative duties, harvesting, and winter care.
Biodiversity Management: This hands-on experience will cover a range of essential skills, including plant care, rewilding, flora and fauna recording, regenerative farming, and woodland management.
We will offer spaces for schools to spend time at Comraich. Learning about what we do, the benefits we bring to the environment, the community, and the animals under our care.
Children will also have the opportunity to get stuck in with animal care, gardening, and biodiversity management, with time set aside for Recreational Activities such as archery, nerf battles, and sports day type team building exercises.
